The fabric is made up of aramid rings linked together by aramid bonds. It is non-combustible in air, and will not melt and drip. When exposed to intense heat fabric carbonizes and thickens, forming a virtually impenetrable barrier. Nomex offers protection that cannot be washed out or worn away. In fact, durability test conducted by DuPont show no deterioration of fabric strength, dimensional stability, or appearance even after 200 washes.Nomex ComfortNomex Comfort has been developed on the basis of meta-aramid and para-aramid fibers. Aramid fabrics offer a high degree of thermal stability. The heat and flame resistant properties are permanent and have been certified after 100 industrial launderings.
